Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez-Collins is an American-Mexican sportscaster. She works as an ESPN news anchor and hosts SportsNation at times. She started working at ESPN at the end of 2016. Her mother is the journalist on television Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins speaks two languages and has been since when she was nine years old. Her ability in this area helped her to get her first job at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs such as Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. Her first job was as a reporter for CBS St. Petersburg. CBS St. Petersburg affiliate after that. Then she moved into Rio Grande Valley in 2009 in order to join the team of reporters at the Spanish channel KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Reporting on stories related to illegal immigration as well as drug trafficking along the Texas as well as the Mexico the border. She was employed as a news reporter on KNVO TV 48 Univision, the Spanish channel KNVO TV48 Univision and Fox2 News. Also, she was a substitute for weather and sports anchors. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's Dallas-affiliate station. In that station, she was given greater duties. Antonietta Collins was born in Veracruz, Mexico. The family moved to Mexico City where she was born on the 22nd of November, 1985. Her sister is also there. The family relocated into Miami in 1992, after having left Mexico. The couple divorced shortly after in 1995. Her mother got married to a naval architect named Fabio Fajardo who passed away of kidney cancer in the year 2006. She stayed at Canton Ohio with her older sister throughout the summer which was the time she received an opportunity to work. Still a senior in high school but having a clear vision of what she wanted to do with her life Antonietta was able to visit the University of Mount Union to determine if the school was suitable for her preferences. The result was that she enjoyed the university and also that the university had the program she desired. She graduated from high school and was accepted at the college as a media studies major. Her professor Mark Bergmann, who managed WRMU FM and was a part of her class, developed a lasting relationship with her. The professor who taught her Mark Bergmann inspired her with his enthusiasm in journalism. Also, he deeply affected her.
